John Petrocelli

Would your life change if you can detect someone is telling you a BSer? I know mine would.   Part of this is determining who is telling you truth or the whole truth. Many people use BS to get their point  across or convinence people that know every thing. 

 

Logan Paul, a Youtube star, pulled off a celebrity fight with Floyd Mayweather with minimal fighting skills made a base of $250k plus 10% of pay per view ticket which could be 10 or 20 million dollars.  A lot of money for a gentleman who is not in the same class but Mayweather made a guaranteed $10 million with 50% take of the gate.

 

Kyrie Irving at the 2017 NBA ALLSTAR Game, he came up with an interesting claim.   In a  podcast that ended up receiving more attention than the game.  He stated:

 

This is not even a conspiracy theory.  The Earth is flat.

 

This comment is still discussed as joke today.

His research examines the causes and consequences of BS and BS ting in the way of better understanding and improving BS  detection and disposal. He is the author of The Life-Changing Science of Detecting BS . Petrocelli’s research contributions also include attitudes and persuasion and the intersections of counterfactual thinking with learning, memory and decision making. His research has appeared in the top journals of his field including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Petrocelli also serves an Associate Editor of the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin
